Online Forum For Pinoy Bloggers
In the last month of 2011, I spent quite a time participating in the online discussions and activities of Filipino bloggers using Facebook (FB) groups. I did find participating in such groups very useful in gaining blog visits, pageviews and comments by some serious participants in such social media groups. In there, a member could also increase his FB ‘likes’, Google +1s, tweets and the like for as long as he reciprocates the efforts of group members.
Basically, I do not find anything wrong with the traffic exchange activities going on in such FB groups. The traffic I am getting from them are recorded as coming from facebook.com in my Google Analytics and being a social media (not a traffic exchange outfit), I do not think that it will cause any harm to my blog. You may have a different opinion about this and I want to hear it by way of a comment to this blog.
Other than the benefit of gaining traffic and engagements for our blogs, I find it annoying to use FB groups if we intend to simultaneously discuss various topics about blogging. You can ask a question and it may get answered but a few moments of inactivity could get the thread buried or visibly lost. This is much unlike discussions in online forum where topics stay visible for as long as it won’t get stale or closed when the questions are answered.
Any group, association, organization, club and the like who needs to be constantly in touch with its members to discuss matters of concern need an online forum. I am familiar in using online forums as well as moderating them and I am confident in saying that bloggers despite diversity of kinds and interests need such kind of facility. We need to have a venue where we can discuss about blog improvement, platform, SEO, building backlinks, advertising, earning online and other matters of help especially for those who are new in the craft.
Having had the experience in participating in various online forums and seeing the need for such a facility, I decided to restructure an old forum for free use by Filipino bloggers. I rename it to “Filipino Bloggers’ Forum” and set-up its categories and boards so that they won’t be in conflict with the traffic exchange activities that social media groups offer. I also retained some topics about blogging so that we can instantly start our discussions. You are welcome to join the forum. Just click the image on this blog to register.
nice idea 🙂 best of luck Sir!
Thank you for your initiative. 🙂
I agree with you, Sir.. I’ve visited the jefmart.com forum already and I think it will be very helpful for a newbie like me. Thanks and Good luck! 🙂
Ayun matry nga yang forum na yan. Sana pumatok :))
Thanks to all for the visits and the comments. The Filipino Bloggers’ Forum will always be online for the free use of everyone. I will be around to assist anyone who wants to use it.
I totally agree.. I hope it will push through.
tnx alot

Yeah. I agree. The interaction will be moderated and facilitated well. 🙂
thanks for this idea..i’m really always reading and learning blogging activities.
have a wonderful and blessed year 2012. ^_^
Learning is never enough. It is continuous as one grows older and supposedly wiser. 🙂
nice po. Salamat po sa initiative neo po Sir Ed. God bless po sir. Happy New Year
This is an absolutely great and welcome undertaking which all Filipino Bloggers should participate therein. It reminds me of the heyday of the defunct INBOX WORLD of the Philippine STAR where we, INBOX texters, used to actively engage in frequent rebuttals of one’s views. In this new forum, making offensive and derogatory comments deviating from the issues tackled must be strictly prohibited which inappropriate behavior is allowed in the comments at the Yahoo news exchanges. I hope to learn more in the forum in the days to come.
I agree, if we answer some questions in FB groups, after a few minutes or hours of inactivity, the thread could easily get buried. But, not into online forums. I wish we could have one of those, just like in SEO org.ph, where we can ask or answer questions about SEO topics. Have a blessed New Year po! =)
I agree with your comment on the FB group… Although I am just starting up as a blogger though and I do enjoy reading about other as well in my spare time…
Let me check out the forum now…
Thank you so much for this one sir Ed!
God Bless!

i also like the idea of exchange comments, links, fb adds, etc. and i am also joining your forum 🙂
For years before I even got interested in blogging, I was active (still am!) at PEx. Huge, right? Then FB came along, trumped Friendster and it sort of turned into THE quick access forum. Only the downside was what you pointed out, Ed ~ topics getting buried under new “content”. So some months back, a blogger forum was also organized to cater specifically to blogger issues, for newbies and old-timers alike, for anything and everything about blogging, whether as a hobbyist or serious online earner. Two forums were started even, if I’m not mistaken, although I was just more active on one over the other.
Verdict: they didn’t last. Not that there wasn’t any support ~ there were tons, in fact… from bloggers all over! I found out though, the while many were blog-savvy, a lot of these bloggers didn’t know much about how the forum works, or to use it to their advantage (do follow links, for example). And it was really much easier to do the “forum” thing on FB via groups because, heck, everyone was on FB! Tsk… too bad, the forum would have been a great idea for really helping out each other, and expanding blog reach.
So what I really mean to say Ed, is that… this is a great idea and let’s encourage it! I hope other bloggers see the value on forum commenting versus doing it most of the time on social media. 🙂
I am excited for this sir. I want to join the blogger’s forum because I know this could help me expose my blog to other bloggers. Imagine using FBW Facebook group and Blogger’s forum at the same time …wow…..
Setting up the forum is an excellent idea… it’s also a great venue for those who are new to blogging 🙂
I found it interesting to join with the Filipino Bloggers’ Forum. I want to experience the effect of this forum to the present status of my blog. By the way, Is it already functioning?
