Celebrating Christmas With The Family
I was unable to do my regular update on this blog (my target is 2 to 3 times a week) because I was assisting my son on the many things that he had to accomplish while on a short vacation in our country these days. I only had the chance to use the keyboard during this lull on Christmas day. Another event that occurred lately was the death of a brother-in-law where I had to be with my wife in attending the wake. No excuses but they really caused changes in my regular schedule of activities.
The coming home of my eldest son and his joining the wife and child for the holidays completed the family in our celebration of Christmas. We attended the midnight mass on Christmas Eve and had noche buena together in our home. It was not like this in Christmas 2010 because he and his wife were then in a foreign country for their work and studies. We were very glad for the chance to be a complete family in celebrating the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ.
While celebrating Christmas with the family, we take cognizance of the fact that not all Filipinos are celebrating Christmas happily. There are thousands among our brothers and sisters in the southern part of the country who grieve the lost of their loved ones to Typhoon Sendong. There are also those who have less in life with almost nothing to partake in the celebration of the joyous season. To them, we offer our prayer for fast recovery and a better life in the coming year.
Hope you and your family had a merry Christmas. I agree that sometimes it is hard to be happy especially this Christmas season knowing that some of our brothers and sisters in Mindanao are still recovering from bagyong Sendong. But I know we did our best to help them with our own special ways and our prayers are the most powerful of them all.
Having your son and his family with you on Christmas day is really something to celebrate. My condolence for the loss of your brother in law. Merry cahristmas and thank you for being of big help to FBW members .
I feel you when it comes to hardships this Yuletide season. During these times, all we can do is look at the bright side and make most of the situation.
Of course, what I have gone through does not even compare to all that has happened to our kababayans in CDO. I pray for them still.
You’re too busy Ed this Christmas! I know you can cope with your routine. Condolence for the passing away of your brother-in-law. I know this year’s Christmas you’re very happy with your family for they’re together as a whole family. I do appreciate your attitude caring for those who were in dire needs especially those who had been the victims of typhoon Sendong. You prayer is the best help you could offer to them. I do offer prayer them as what you’ve mentioned for their fast recovery and a better life comes 2012. So be it!
I understand you everyone has their reasons for taking a break, and you are right while we are celebrating Christmas, our fellows in southern part might have pain in heart for this Christmas hope that they can cope it through times.
