Two Years Of Blogging And What . . .
Today is January 11, 2011 and this blog is exactly two (2) years old today. I fondly recall comments on my first anniversary blog saying that this year’s anniversary will be on 1-11-11 (short for today’s date) and will be luckier than 1-11-10 (short for my last year’s anniversary date). Whatever it is, I just want to say that I am always lucky having you as my reader and I wish to thank you for that.
And now, like in the past, let me jot down again the statistics on how this site performs in its first two years in the blogosphere. Modesty aside, I have to say that I am very proud of what I had achieved in doing my job as a blogger. Here are the various statistics I gathered from the free blogging tools that are available in the net:
A. Blog Posts and Comments – Including this one, there are already 362 posts on this blog. That’s like having an article posted every other day which are good enough to do well in Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). I approved 747 comments (including my replies) and manually rejected around the same number while my WP-SpamFree filtered 15,475 spam comments.
B. PageRank and Traffic – This blog has Google PR4 since July of last year and I do not expect to have the next higher rank in the near future. WP-Stats plugin recorded 194,538 visits in the 20 months that I was using it while Alexa ranks this blog currently at 266,336 although I remember hitting the 165,000 level some months ago.
C. Blog Categories – Currently, this blog has twenty-one (21) categories and sub-categories after I added “Memoirs” category and its ‘Current Events’, ‘Reminiscence’ and ‘Then and Now’ sub-categories. I made the addition after I deciding on writing my personal journals on this site and in view of this, I may have to change the title of this blog.
Again, I wish to thank all those who visited this blog in the past two years and hope that those who regularly do such will not grow tired of my blogs. I pray that everyone will be successful this year and in the years to come.
