Changing Blog Title And More
You may not have noticed it because the change is not very obvious but this blog’s title is now Owning An I-Café instead of Owning a Café. When I started this blog in January of 2009, I already know what I want to blog about but it took me sometime to decide on the title. I intentionally use café even if I know that it is a misnomer for the business of my target audience, the Internet café owners or i-café owners for short. What I had in mind then was that the misnomer would create curiosity and drive some more traffic to my site and indeed that was what happened as evidenced by comments on my early blogs. Now that I have corrected the error, I hope I did not offended them and that they continue visiting my blog.
Honestly, I do not know what would be the effect of the title change in terms of this blog’s Google PageRank which is currently PR4. I am also worried if the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) would still include Owning An I-Café after the change. I am banking on belief that my blogs are indexed by the search engines with reference to its URL (Uniform Resource Locator) and not to its title. I could be wrong; hence, the worry. My blog is already appearing at page one for long-tail keywords contained in it and I do not want to lose the position.
By the way, I also plan to change my blog’s logo to the one I now have on this article. The new logo is an expression of my desire for i-cafés to go green and use environment-friendly equipment, materials and supplies. It also contain my dream for i-cafés to reach greater heights and recognition for the role they play in bridging the digital divide by providing affordable Internet access to the public.
