Celebrating Christmas With The Family

I was unable to do my regular update on this blog (my target is 2 to 3 times a week) because I was assisting my son on the many things that he had to accomplish while on a short vacation in our country these days. I only had the chance to use the keyboard during this lull on Christmas day. Another event that occurred lately was the death of a brother-in-law where I had to be with my wife in attending the wake. No excuses but they really caused changes in my regular schedule of activities.

The coming home of my eldest son and his joining the wife and child for the holidays completed the family in our celebration of Christmas. We attended the midnight mass on Christmas Eve and had noche buena together in our home. It was not like this in Christmas 2010 because he and his wife were then in a foreign country for their work and studies. We were very glad for the chance to be a complete family in celebrating the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ.

While celebrating Christmas with the family, we take cognizance of the fact that not all Filipinos are celebrating Christmas happily. There are thousands among our brothers and sisters in the southern part of the country who grieve the lost of their loved ones to Typhoon Sendong. There are also those who have less in life with almost nothing to partake in the celebration of the joyous season. To them, we offer our prayer for fast recovery and a better life in the coming year.
