Watching Pacquiao Fights Live In YouTube
This may not be possible in the upcoming fight of Manny Pacquiao with Shane Mosley next month but this is sure to happen in the very near future. Last Friday, April 8th, the online video giant announced the initial roll out of YouTube Live which will integrate live streaming capabilities and discovery tools directly into the YouTube platform for the first time. The launch begins with a new YouTube Live browse page where one can always find the most compelling live events happening on YouTube.
YouTube also start gradually rolling out its live streaming beta platform which will allow some deserving partners to stream live content. The goal is to provide thousands of partners with the capability to live stream from their channels in the months ahead. In order to ensure a great live stream viewing experience, YouTube will roll this offering out incrementally over time. The service has been tested before for streaming popular one-time events such as concerts, sporting events, and interviews.
Early last September, the service trial proved buggy and faced a limited viewership. But in January, a new and improved version came back and now it’s full steam ahead to build the system out to include streaming from thousands of content partners. The new YouTube Live will not only have a landing page specifically for live streamed content browsing, it will also allow users to subscribe so that they are not only alerted of posted videos but also of upcoming streams.
There are already other entities offering live streaming services such as USTREAM, Justin.tv, and Qik, but with YouTube Live jumping into the ring, it will be interesting to see how this will change the competition. For now you can open YouTube Live portal to check how will its performance be when it does the live streaming of the future boxing fights of Manny Pacquiao.
